Patricia Wasielewski
Patricia Wasielewski is a full time professor of Sociology and Women’s Studies. She has taught at the University of Redlands for 30 years. She has successfully lead many trips with U of R students starting in 1994. Pat’s own research is on the effects of globalization on identity construction and gendering of development processes. She travels frequently to Mexico and Guatemala, and teaches courses in social psychology, deviance, criminology, popular culture and emotions.

Max Cheney Kari Bush
Max Cheney is an educator and filmmaker who traveled to Oaxaca and Guatemala with the 2006 integrated semester group. He received his BA from the Johnston Center at the University of Redlands in 2007, with an emphasis in creative writing, critical race theory, and Spanish. After teaching English in Central Mexico for three years, Max returned to the U.S. to receive an M.Ed in Teaching and Learning from UC San Diego. He's into music, film, and fútbol!
Kari Bush traveled to Oaxaca and Guatemala with the 2012 integrated semester group. She also studied abroad in Vienna, Austria before graduating from the Johnston Center at the University of Redlands in 2014, with an emphasis in the Importance and Influence of Music in Society. She is looking to begin her Masters in Ethnomusicology. Her current research is about Mexican village band music. She plays saxophone, enjoys singing, and loves food!
